woodsball

I like woods ball because I used to be in the military and it gives me a chance to utilize my combat training. As far as how many people go, the more the merrier inn my opinion, just more people to shoot at. Feedback is ok but takes all the stealth and stalking out of it.

Scenario tourneys

The kind of paintball I find the most fun is a 2 team tournament with scenario battles. For instance I played an event called "pirates plunder" which was a weekend torny with two teams, the "Privateers" those loyal to the queen and the "Bucaneers" the pirates. Both teams had a hundred or so players and each of the 8 battles over the two days had objectives that needed to be completed for points. These objectives ranges from capturing a point to digging up a treasure box and hauling it away without getting shot up. The team wth the most points at the end of the event won. Each team had a predestinated leader who was respected (and really good at rallying the players). One thing the event had that alot of other events don't were tanks, modified vans with a double semi auto turret on it that would go along roads in the battlefields shoot up people. Anyone could "hire" these tanks to fight for their team by paying them alot of tournament money (cheap plastic coins). Loads of fun.

Woodsball

I like woods ball alot better than speedball. The reasoning behind this is that I like the feeling of stalking my prey before I "kill" it. In woodsball, it doesn't matter of your the only player left and your aganist 5 enemies. If you have mad stealth skills, and a good cammo pattern you can take them all out. For me, woodsball gives me a greater experience of real combat. I have taken out many high class speedball players with $300 guns with a 98 custom simply because I knew how to hide myself and they were running through the woods like mad rabbid dogs, shooting everything they saw. I'm ok with that... Heck I do that alot, but in woodsball its about where you place your team. Not the equipment. All I were for a match is hunting boots, my us army pants, and a black under armor shirt. It's alot lighter than it ok we're to play speedball. I would need a more expensive shirt, extra guppies, more ammo, and a Tatical vest at least.

The most exciting form of paintball

I like them both, but prefer woodsball or recball.I started playing paintball in 1986 with a splatmaster and now still use a custom made mechanical autococker & when more speed is needed I have a custom e-bladed autococker.I love the team effort and tactics of woodsball Not to take anything from speedball, its more enjoyable & less costly for me. And i enjoy teaching new players the game in a woodsball or recball setting. STAY SAFE KEEP THE GAME ALIVE!

Woodsball for Me

Woodsball for me every time. I like the feel of "hunting", but you don't have to "pack" anything out of the woods. The interaction of speedball has it's place, and I can see why people would like it, but for me that action of tramping through the woods, interacting with nature, falling down and getting dirty. I love it.

Woodsball and Recball

For me, speedball is great but puts too much paint to waste. I love woodsball for the tactics and teamwork side, but i put recball over all for the close quarters combat and real-life scenarios, its faster paced than woodsball but maintains the element of stealth, even in close quarters

what better speed ball/woodsball

well in my opinion i like woodsball because its more like real action. going to attack your opponent without knowing where they are at. this game you dont fire unless you have to. when you fire you hit your target. in speed ball in my opinion its also fun but its more of who has a better/faster and more upgraded gun then they pretty much wins. you shot continously and the game doesnt last that long. well back to woodsball. it doesn't matter if you have a high-end marker or low-end marker. its all about stealth and the way you think. stratagy is what it is. in woodsball you have to go out pretty much not knowing where they are and gots to know that they can fire from any angle. you have to have good vision also because people usually wear camo flouge. so you need to know how to communicate with one another without speaking. teamwork a lot of teamwork will win the game. experience or not if you have a teamwork then you'll win most of the time.

Both of them

I enjoy every type of paintball. My marker is made for speedball, but it does well in all areas of the game.

Woodsball

Woodsball is my preference for paintball, as I use an upgraded Tac 5m Recon, a semi-auto gun that sports a 12" barrel, JT official stock butt and a close-quarters red dot laser scope with a 1.5x zoom. My hopper is a Halo, and ech piece has woodland camo. As such, I can eliminate any targets at close and medium range with a high accuracy rate and "kill" rate. Woodsball is great for me because I like to bury myself deep in the brush, and flank the opposing team. On the flip side, I can click on the zoom and snipe targets hiding in the forestry. All in all, it all really depends on preferece and how you've built your gun.

SPEEDBALL

ok, first off, im a big big fan of speedball, because you have 1000's of rounds flying at you constantly, then, if you are good enough, while there is a break in the firing, you run to another bunker, and if you are fast and good enough go for the run by. Woodsball, on the other hand, you are just walking through the woods and then you hear a couple rounds go off, so you duck and run to a tree, then a couple more rounds are shot off, its just all a very slow type of paintball, as you can see, woodsball doesn't really do it for me.

BOTH

i think both is awsome. woodsball is cool because you can have a big nice looken milsim gun and throw grenades and plant trip mines and stuff and speedball you run and shoot very fast and play all kinds of games like capture the flag, elimination, etc and run real fast and slide. and in both games adrenaline is pumping. thats why i like both
—Guest paintkid

Woodsball!!!

I would love to play Speedball...but I'm 38 and have a screwed up right knee.A lot of running and sliding is just not for me.I love to watch it though.Put me in the woods and i can play with the best of them.I just wish woodsball and spedball players would come together and stop being at odds with each other. Its all good, just different.

competitive woodsball

I've played every type of paintball there is; and the most exciting games I have played are the competitive woodsball games such as the SPPL and UWL style tournaments. For recreational play; my favorite is pump or stock class games. Super fun, very intense, and amazingly inexpensive.
—Guest Bob

Less is More

Lots of paint flying is a bigger test of the equipment than the player. A game where you only go through a handful of paintballs is by far the best test of skill and is the most exciting.

Affinity for woodsball

I haven't ever played speedball - only watched it on TV and of course that's pretty different from playing! I like woodsball because each field could be different. I like being out in nature too! I think it would be really cool to do a big scenario game - that would be exciting. I'd also like to play an outdoor game with pumps and limited paint. I think that might be the most exciting form of paintball.

Small Group of Friends in the Woods

While it might not exactly fit the definition of "exciting", enjoying a small group of friends for a few hours in the woods is what I consider the "best" form of paintball. I love to just enjoy friends and fun without worrying too much about cheaters, over-competitive players and over-confident, over-armed, under-mannered jerks.
