Guide Review - Viewloader VLocity Jr.
Design
The VLocity Jr. is Viewloader's second tier hopper, slightly behind the original VLocity. It is simply designed with the batteries underneath the nose of the hopper and all the electronics and motor near the shooter. A very nice addition is the external on/off switch that makes it easy to tell when your hopper is on and it's easy to disconnect all power without unhooking your batteries. The VLocity Jr. has a large, 180-round capacity that results in a somewhat large, bulky hopper that dominates your gun's profile. The major differences between the VLocity and the VLocity Jr. is that the Jr. is slightly smaller and its electronics are a step below its big brother's. While it lacks the ability to change tension settings, there is a Select Force upgrade available which also increases the max feed rate. The stock board always keeps a slight tension on the balls which causes the motor to hum slightly between shots. It does have an auto-reverse, anti-jam function that senses a jam and automatically reverses the impellor before proceeding to reload as normal. It has two sets of eyes to detect when paintballs are falling correctly and when there's a problem, it triggers the de-jamming function.
Performance
The VLocity Jr. is a reliable, consistent and easy to maintain hopper. It feeds fast enough to keep up with basically any firing mode on any gun. Plus, the dual vision system and auto-reverse functions have basically eliminated all jams. The VLocity Jr. does have a nice, wide feed mouth which makes refilling during a game pretty easy. As a negative, it really doesn't have a very good battery life.Reviewer's note: This review is based on my use of the VLocity Jr. and other reviews, including user reviews.
