Paintball Definitions F-L

Definitions of paintball terms from F to L
HP
High Pressure. A term usually applied to paintball tanks that have an output pressure over 500 PSI or to guns that require a higher output pressure to operate.
Grips
The plastic or rubber covers that are attached to the grip of a paintball gun. Grips are purely used for comfort and aesthetics and do not affect a gun's ability to function.
Gat
A usually complimentary slang term that refers to a paintball gun.
Fully Automatic
A firing mode where a paintball gun will fire as long as you hold down the trigger. Many guns have a capped rate of fire with fully automatic shooting so you may actually be able to fire faster by repeatedly pulling the trigger.
Feed Neck
A small tube that projects from the chamber of a marker and is where you feed paintballs into the marker.
FPS
Feet Per Second; used to clock the speed of a paintball as it leaves the barrel of a gun.
Goggles
Protective device that covers the face, mouth, and ears of a paintball player, designed to stop paintballs from damaging soft tissue on the head.
Hopper
A container that fits on the top of a paintball marker and feeds paintballs into the marker.
Kill
The result of the elimination of an opposing player.
LP
Low Pressure. Term used to describe tanks or guns that work at lower air pressures - typically less than 200 PSI for guns and less than 450 PSI for tanks.
