Guide Review - Dye Rhino Cover
Design
The Dye Rhino is a black tank cover with four possible color highlights (red, blue, yellow and gray). It comes in multiple sizes and fits most common tank sizes (88cu, 68cu, 45cu, etc.) and some specialty shapes such as peanut tanks. It has a rear rubber plate that allows you to put your tank onto your shoulder without it sliding and a Dye logo on the side. The cover fits over your tank and closes with a zipper along the top, accompanied by a Velcro tab to keep your zipper from flopping around. The top, bottom and sides have a built in padding to further protect your investment.
Functionality
Using a tank cover is as simple as it sounds: buy the correct sized cover for your tank and slide it on. Make sure you zip up the cover and secure the zipper handle with the Velcro tab. The Rhino very effectively protects a tank from even the most punishing incidental run-ins with trees, rocks and the ground. The Rhino won't protect your tank if you try to destroy it, but it will do a great job of preventing damage through all common bumps and collisions.
Other Info
The Rhino does cost more than basic tank covers (usually around $30 for the newest year's model), but it also works considerably better. If you have an uncommon tank size, you may have to get a cover that is slightly larger than you'd like. In this case, the cover will probably fit loose on your tank; to screw your tank on your gun you will have to remove the cover so it doesn't slide, and then put the cover back on afterwards.
