Guide Review - Azodin Kaos Paintball Gun Review
Design
The Azodin is a stacked tube, blowback mechanical paintball gun, meaning that the bolt sits on top of the hammer. It comes with an air-through foregrip, locking feedneck and an autococker threaded barrel. The all-metal body is still pretty light while the quick-release Delrin bolt is very easy to use. One nice feature that you don't see in other guns in this price range is dual ball detents to make sure that no balls roll down the barrel, no matter what size you are using.Performance
The Kaos will work on both CO2 and compressed air, but since most players purchasing guns in this price range will be shooting CO2 all of my testing was done with CO2.The first thing that strikes me about the Kaos is that it doesn't feel like a sub-$100 gun when you shoot it. Not only is the gun very comfortable to hold but the double-trigger has a very smooth, consistent pull and there is much less recoil than compared to Spyders or Tippmanns. With a gravity-fed hopper I was able to get 9bps measured over the chrono and the consistency was constantly within about 15fps.
The accuracy of the gun is pretty good and is comparable to other mechanical guns - out to about 50-60 feet you shouldn't have much trouble hitting another player. I did find the barrel to be above average and there is no need to upgrade the stock barrel.
One final note is that the Kaos is very easy on paint. I didn't have any breaks in the barrel until I used some extremely brittle paint. Standard paintballs or even moderately brittle paint shot without any problems and there were no breaks.
Recommended Upgrades
None. The Kaos is what it is - a very good mechanical paintball gun and doesn't need any upgrades to improve its base performance. Rather than purchasing upgrades for this, save your money to buy a higher-end gun.
