The Boy Scouts have long been opposed to allowing scouts participate in paintball, but it appears their stance has shifted. KEE Action Sports is hosting a paintball event at this year's Scout Quest 100 in St. Louis as part of the organization's 100th anniversary. Paintball and Scouting always seemed to be an ideal match, so it's nice to see that the Boy Scouts of America are warming to the sport. Too bad it took them this long - it would have been great when I was a scout to play some paintball with my troop.

There has never been a problem with Scouts shooting paintball. The complaint is when they point it at another person.
I used to be a Boy Scout…back in my glory days…lol
The complaint about them pointing it to another person is crazzzzzy. Look at their other merit badges. Rifle, shot gun ect. I remember getting my finger cut open doing wood carving and needing stiches.
Now you have to remember that boys will be boys, and it is paintball where you are saposta shoot eachother. But protective gear and saftey should be taught to them, thats a no brainer. In other merit badges, bad things could happen if rules are not discussed, which they are. But like I said, boys will be boys.
Scouts is not a place were you send your son to be taught how to become a boy; Scouts is a place were you send your boy to become a man, and learn certain values that comes with being a man.
Which is why before every meeting the scouts all say aloud,
A scout is…
Troustworthy
Loyal
Helpful
Frendly
Courteous
Kind
Obedient
Cheerful
Thrifty
Brave
Clean
Reverent
Boy Scouts have been playing paintball for some time. Just not at their major events. Look to any local field, and I’m willing to bet you’ll find at least one Boy Scout outing on their reservation books.
