High End Paintball Gun for the Woods

By , About.com Guide   May 13, 2010

Follow me on:

Angel Paintball Sports (formerly WDP) has long made the Angel paintball gun for the tournament crowd and has quite a reputation for high-end guns.  Now, though, they have introduced a new, high-end electro for the woods.  It's not simply an A1 in scenario clothing as the breach has been redesigned and the gun is really built for competitive woodsball players.

While I haven't had a chance to shoot the new AR:K, I have extensive experience with the A1 which I have used in the woods.  I realize that the AR:K is designed for the woodsball crowd, but I just don't necessarily see why the custom scenario gun is needed unless you are intent on using the tactical rails as I have had great success using the A1 and other high-end electros for woodsball.

I'm sure that there is a market for woodsball-specific, high-end, electropneumatic paintball guns, but I personally don't think I'll be willing to lay down close to a thousand dollars anytime soon to buy one.  What about you?  Do you see yourself spending that kind of money for a woodsball gun?

I was always wondering when WDP would get into the rec and scenario ball market instead of only focusing purely on tournament paintballers. The angel was always looked at as one of the best paintball guns available. It will be interesting to see how other players react to the new direction.

Sounds like something someone who needs something for a very specific scenario with a very specific budget. I, for one, don’t have that kind of money!

I own and use my Angel A1 Fly both for air and woods ball.

I would love to have the AR:K in my bag but I’m like you all, I don’t want to spend that kind of dough. When I bought my angel I got it used for 400 with only 3 cases shot threw it.

When I use my A1 to play woods ball I have to go home and take it all apart and clean everything out…everything. its the opening breach that gives me the most problems. So yes I would love to have the AR:K, but I will buy it used…but for now its on my wish list
