Smart Parts is Closed (Temporarily)

By , About.com Guide   January 8, 2010

Follow me on:

Smart Parts is temporarily closed while they go through corporate restructuring.    They claim in their press release that they will be finished by the end of January, but it will be interesting to see what type of company (if any) emerges.

The press release reads in part:

During this time, the company will not be able accept or process orders, ship or receive products or perform repairs. The restructuring process is expected to be completed by the end of January 2010.

"It is important that people do not send equipment in for service during this time," said company Vice President, Adam Gardner. "Our buildings will not be staffed during the restructuring, so there will be no one there to receive packages. They will automatically be refused and returned to the sender.

I like it…”corporate restructuring”….since when has a restructure involved not staffing your facilities while waiting to make the change? Smells fishy to me. I’ve been thru enough “restructures” and “mergers” to know that this is bigger than they say. I own several SP markers and accessories, so I can only HOPE the change is for the better.

To Quang: better make a trip down to your local store if you need help with your Vibe. As long as they are cool, you should be able to get your Vibe taken care of. Of course, none of this matters is SP doesn’t come back. Good luck!

The above thought is smart and doesn’t require any further addition. It’s perfect thought from my side.
