Brass Eagle Paintball Manufacturing Plant to Close

By , About.com Guide   January 4, 2010

Follow me on:

With less-than-spectacular news to start the new year, a Brass Eagle paintball plant in Southwest Missouri will close in mid-February.  The Chicago Tribune reports that 60 people will lose their jobs as the 25,000 square foot facility closes.  While it's not confirmed, the closing of this plant could also mark the end of the ubiquitous low-end Monster Balls which will raise the price to play for the super-discount crowd.

Hopefully the laid-off workers will find new employment and no other paintball manufacturers suffer the same fate.

I’ve used monster balls and neither me nor any of my friends has been impressed by them. Sure they’re cheap, but their only claim to fame in our opinion is that they’re better than nothing. But we count hits, not just breaks. If we didn’t, they wouldn’t be worth anything. It still sucks, though, to hear about Americans loosing their jobs.

Luckily Kee got to pick up JT. I think they may be able to bring the company back to life.
