Where to Find Deals on Paintball Guns
Monday June 29, 2009
The simple truth is that the vast majority of paintball players simply can't afford to buy every single paintball gun they want without thinking about price. In fact, most of us can't really afford to buy any paintball gun without really thinking about its price. While I would love to get my hands on every paintball gun ever made, reality tells me that I have to be pretty choosy about which paintball guns I buy (lately, that seems to be pumps and older blowbacks). That means that I have to look for deals. Deals are out there, it just takes a little time and effort to find them.

I think the trick is to employ the same savvy and search abilities you would use on any other item search. Look around the web, look for coupon codes you can use on specific paintball sites. Call the manufacturers and ask for their MSRP and compare that with what the shops and online stores are offering. Try forums but be very cautious. I would use an escrow service or paypal to purpose items that via forums and craigslist that need to be shipped. If it’s local you should try to meet the person. I use this site to whenever I shop online RetailMeNot.com. If their is a coupon code for a store online, it will be there.
Most players put a lot of money into upgrades. Look for heavily upgraded markers when buying used. Even if the upgrades are not to your liking you can resell or trade these items to reduce the overall cost. The sad truth is that an upgraded marker goes for much less than the marker and upgrade parts sold separately. Similar deals can be found on sales of multiple markers or a player’s entire gear bag. If you’re willing to pay a bit more up front for a ‘lot’ and follow up with a resale it can work out in your favor. Of course this is a good way to end up with a load of junk if you don’t resell the unwanted items. Also consider placing a want add in your local paper or Craigslist. Joining group buys for a team or paintball forum are useful when available.
