Paintballers in Germany Fight Back

Monday May 18, 2009
After German politicians decided to fast track a bill through congress to ban paintball, local paintballers have raised their voices, leading to the withdrawal of the proposed legislation to ban paintball. It's about time they dropped the bill. Whenever politicians make snap judgments about things they know nothing about, things always seem to go wrong.
The Local reports that:
The government, however, [still] plans to conduct an inquiry to assess whether paintball regulations should be tightened by increasing age limits and other measures.

I guess this just proves that the German politicians are as cowardly as I initially thought. They are willing to "do" something as long as nobody shouts back. In this case, they didn't really think paintball leads to violence, they simply wanted to be viewed as doing something. The second somebody went against them, they dropped the bill and move onto a more vulnerable target - apparently they'll fight against the evils of Bomberman.
