The Paintballs You Shoot
I recently asked what paintballs you shoot and I got a good number of responses. And the most popular brand was......
Actually, there wasn't one.
This somewhat surprised me, but no brand of paint stood out among the responses I received. People mentioned everything from Evil Premiums to Draxxus Blaze to RPS Stinger to Sterling Rec. The only trend was that while people often prefer a brand, they care more that each box has well-rounded, uniform paintballs. It seems that people find a brand that typically gives them good results and they stick with it. Sounds like a good idea to me.
One interesting paintball buying strategy I learned is to buy only form stores that sell large amounts of paint. Sure, the biggest stores and fields typically cost a little bit more, but if they go through their inventory quickly, it means the paint they carry is probably fresh which leads to fewer dimples and flat spots.
As for me, I'll continue looking for the perfect brand of paint, even if it means I try out all the brands of paintballs in the world. Hopefully I never find it and have to keep on looking.

I have found Rps to shoot the best for me.Karnage is good too. For winter paint I usually go to Zap because they have a thicker shell like the winter mix paint.
Anyone who lives in the south should at least consider a brand called Nan Hai…I’ts a thicker, but slightly more brittle shell….HALO Bs beware….Bs are the only thing I’ve seen blend Nan Hai’s into greasy sludgy sour hopper smoothies…The paints thickness is close to that of Amp which doesnt work well in Tippmans because of the thin, brittle shell…Nan Hai is perfect for year round play in all parts and seasons of the world especialy southern summers, and yankee winters…The stuff can be hard to find, but Affordablepaintballs.com sells it. and if your paint finds its way to your house beaten, worn, and stale, AP sends you a fresh box on the double.
